Cardigan Junction located in Tresaith Cardigan, West Wales has been under construction since May 2019.. This is a HO scale model railroad based in Wisconsin in the early 1950s to 1960s. Modelled loosely on Green Bay to Milwaukee.
The 300 ft single track mainline is designed for operation. With ore trains lumbering to the mines avoiding the priority freights as they deliver goods bound for the metropolis.
The trackwork is complete and running along with most of the scenery. Although there are the inevitable redevelopments and adjustments.
Control is by Digitrax radio throttle along with DCC sound. For those that prefer you can control your loco from your mobile phone via an app.
At this time February 2024 we have set up a working telephone system and have completed first stage of the a dispatchers panel. This is a big job; we have installed over 1000 yds of wire and have begun installing signals and turnouts to the panel. Also working on RFID to track cars.
If you are an experienced modeler or are just starting out. You are welcome to come along for a chat, mug of tea and to run a few trains.
We are always on the lookout for help to bring the layout to life and run trains during operating sessions. we could certainly use a couple more operators. So message us to arrange a visit.

People ask. Why American?
A number of reasons. Primarily British railways carry passengers. U S railways carry freight and we are looking to recreate the basis of collecting and distributing freight around the layout and beyond.eg picking up freight from businesses and delivering it to others on and beyond the layout.
268 powering North with a through freight.

Thanks to everyone who visited over the festive period. The oldest was a sprightly and switched on 97 year old who enjoyed running a few trains the length of the line. A slow freight takes about 15 minutes
We will continue to accommodate visitors on Saturday afternoons during April & May
